The Fire Services Bureau (CB) said in a statement yesterday that a fire drill and evacuation simulation took place at Macau Tower and the purpose of the exercise was to test firefighters and Macau Tower staff members’ “capabilities of reaction and coordination when facing an incident”, adding that the drill was conducted in a “smooth” matter and had met the intended objectives.
The statement pointed out that the periodic exercise was jointly carried out by the Fire Services Bureau in conjunction with the Macau Tower management, and about 180 staff members from both sides participated in the drill.
According to the statement, the drill, which simulated a fire incident, took place at a coffee shop on the fourth floor of the Macau Tower Exhibition and Convention Centre. According to the drill, a Macau Tower staff member was “injured”.
