HANOI – The first direct air route between Vietnamese capital of Hanoi and Macau operated by the country’s national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has got off the ground.
The first flight from Hanoi to Macau by the airline departed on Monday’s evening, making this the 10th new route of Vietnam Airlines this year and the 18th route between Vietnam and China, the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported yesterday.
With a frequency of one round-trip per day, the new route will help meet the increasing passenger transport demand as well as strengthen connectivity and cooperation between China’s Greater Bay Area (GBA) and Vietnam, the VNA report said. The GBA comprises 9 cities in Guangdong as well as the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau.
