BEIJING – The People’s Bank of China (PBOC) will take a string of steps to make it easier for Macau residents to use mobile payments in the mainland.
These steps include promoting Macau’s local digital wallets on the mainland and enabling opening some kinds of mainland bank accounts in Macau to enjoy related mobile payment services, according to an PBOC statement yesterday.
The central bank said it would work with the Macau Monetary Authority (AMCM) to ensure steady implementation of the steps and make life more convenient in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA). – Xinhua
