Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng has said that he does not expect the Legislative Assembly (AL) to take a long time to review a bill to be submitted by the local government enabling Macau’s Lotus Flower border checkpoint to be relocated to the new Hengqin border checkpoint building.

Ho also said that only after the possible passage of the bill by the legislature, can the date of the operational start of the joint checkpoint on Hengqin Island in Zhuhai be finally confirmed.

Ho made the remarks while speaking to reporters when he arrived to work at Government Headquarters at around 9 a.m. on Thursday – the first working day of the new government which took office on December 20.
