Local boxer wants a new belt for the New Year

Local boxer Cheong Lap Cheong will be having another New Year’s Eve fight tomorrow, the last being in Wynn Palace on December 31, 2018 against Hans Raj Thakur of India. This time the fight will be in Guangzhou against Su Yinhuan from Changsha in Lap Cheong’s attempt to win his second belt.

Lap Cheong aged 23 (7 wins, 4KOs -0 losses -0 draws) will be taking on Su aged 27 (7 wins 1KO, - 3 losses 1KO – 2 draws) in his first 10 round fight for a World Boxing Association (WBA) China belt.

The Macau Post Daily spoke to Lap Cheong and his trainer Cheong Wai (no relation) at the Macao Boxing House Gym in Fat Lei Industrial Building in Areia Preta last week after he returned from a training camp in Guangzhou.
