Heavy rain in June that led to leaks at Cinematheque•Passion caused water to seep into the film projector, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) said in a statement yesterday.
Earlier this month, the cinema said in a statement that it would undergo maintenance that would last until the third quarter of next year.
The single-screen cinema belongs to the bureau, which commissioned CUT Limited to operate it, and their original three-year contract expires today.
