The Judiciary Police (PJ) and the Macau Customs Service (AM) held a joint operation on Sunday in which they nabbed a Hong Kong woman and a 17-year-old youth who had been hired by a Hong Kong gang to smuggle and sell drugs in Macau, PJ spokesman Ho Chan Nam said during a special press conference yesterday.

Ho announced the case of the 17-year-old suspect, surnamed Yuen, who told the police that he is a schoolboy. The 47-year-old female suspect surnamed Tang told the police that she works as a matchmaking agent.

According to Ho, the local police received a tip-off recently about a woman who had been hired by a Hong Kong gang to smuggle drugs into Macau and then hand over the drugs to a male to sell in local entertainment venues.
