Eight people were injured in a traffic collision when a car crossed the solid white line on Avenida da Amizade near the Grand Prix Building last night and crashed head-on into a seven-seater people carrier that took off and landed on top of a taxi, a Public Security Police (PSP) officer said at the scene of the incident.
During an on-site media briefing, PSP and Fire Services Bureau (CB) officers said that all three vehicles were severely damaged, and the driver who crossed the solid white line has been detained as he was breathalysed and was found to be at least 1.2 grammes over the legal alcohol limit.
Nine people were in the three vehicles, of which eight were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
