There will be dozens of activities happening around the city over the Chinese New Year (CNY) and the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) has a list of its own events promoting traditional customs that the public can enjoy by emerging themselves in the festival’s cultural and artistic atmosphere.

The highlights of the events include puppet shows, folk music and dance performances presented by the Jiangsu Performing Arts Group and Guangxi Art Performance Group on the first three days of the CNY starting on January 25 in several districts such as Iao Hon Market Garden, the sitting-out area at Lok Yeung Fa Yuen Building in Fai Chi Kei, Barra Square, Rotunda de Carlos da Maia, Pak Tai Temple in Taipa and Eduardo Marques Garden in Coloane.

On the same days at 1:30 p.m., the two art troupes will perform at Anim’Arte Nam Van and host workshops and stalls to display intangible cultural heritage, allowing the public to learn more about folk customs.
