The “lucky” ox which managed to escape from the abattoir in Ilha Verde district last month will be moved to his new home in the Seac Pai Van Park in Coloane before the Chinese New Year, while the taxidermy mount of Macau’s beloved Asian black bear Bobo will be displayed at the Animals’ Specimen Hall to be opened this summer, Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) Vice President Lo Chi Kin told reporters on the sidelines of a Spring Festival dinner for the media at Grand Lisboa casino-hotel yesterday evening.

According to Lo, the ox is currently under quarantine at the bureau’s Oscar Farm in Coloane. According to a naming campaign carried out by The Macau Post Daily last month, “Lucky” was the most popular name proposed by our readers for the ox.

He pointed out that construction of the Animals’ Specimen Hall has been completed last year. However, the opening of the hall to the public will be delayed as the ongoing decoration for a “reproduction of an ecology environment” takes time, Lo noted.
