Secretary for Transport and Public Works Raimundo do Rosário said yesterday he expects the newly appointed director of the Lands, Public Works and Transport Bureau (DSSOPT), Chan Pou Ha, to tackle its existing problems, clear its backlog and improve its public image in a matter of months.

Rosário made the remarks while speaking to reporters after Chan’s swearing-in ceremony on the premises of the bureau in Estrada de D. Maria II.

According to an executive order published in the Official Gazette (BO) yesterday, Rosário has appointed Chan as the bureau’s director for a one-year term effective from yesterday. The executive order was signed by Rosário on Friday. Chan succeeds Li Canfeng whose appointment was not renewed when it expired on December 20.
