The local government said in a statement yesterday that it is staying vigilant about the latest developments concerning the Wuhan pneumonia virus situation. In the statement released through the Macau Government Information Bureau (GCS), the government reassured the public that it has improved preventive work to minimise the risk of such cases affecting Macau.

Between 5 p.m. on Saturday to 5 p.m. on Sunday there were no reports of any local people returning from recent trips to Wuhan and simultaneously complaining of illness, the statement said.

Since January 1 the government has been informed by local medical institutions about a total of 13 illness cases, each involving a patient with fever and respiratory problems, and who had been in Wuhan in the previous 14 days. Tests confirmed that none of the 13 patients had the Wuhan pneumonia virus, according to the statement.
