MGM donates 20 million patacas to aid nation’s fight against coronavirus epidemic

MGM China said in a statement today that it is donating 20 million patacas, in coordination with the Liaison Officeof the Central People’s Government in Macau, to help Hubei province fight the novel coronavirus epidemic. 

 

The statement said that the donation would be for the purchase of preventive and medical supplies, as well as urgent-needed materials and equipment, “devotedly supporting the national epidemic relief and prevention” efforts.

 

For now is the most critical time for our nation in fighting against this coronavirus epidemic battle, we shall always be true to our aspiration, and lend a helping hand to the people in conquering the epidemic together,” MGM China Holdings Limited Co-chairperson & Executive Director Pansy Ho Chiu-king said in theEnglish-language statement.

 

We would like to express our gratitude for the tireless and selfless effort of the medical professionals, who have been protecting the lives of our people, especially the ones at the frontline of Hubei province,” Ho said, adding: “During this difficult time, MGM utterly unites with every fellow of our nation. We will overcome this hardship and welcome a greater tomorrow together.”

 

The statement said that the gaming company, which owns two of Macau’s 41 casinos, would continue to fight the epidemic by following the government’s direction in a spirit of solidarity and cooperation,and working together with the local community.
