Macau Youth Dynamics President Lei Kuok Keong and New Macau Association (NMA) President Scott Chiang Ming Hin said yesterday that the poor turnout of just 580 demonstrators by 10 groups for this year’s May Day protest had been “expected”.

Lei and Chiang made the remarks during separate phone interviews with The Macau Post Daily.

An ad hoc alliance by three of the groups – Macau Youth Dynamics, New Macau Association and ‘Our Land, Our Plan’, demonstrated about land development issues, namely against the planned construction of a high-rise estate on the bottom of Coloane Hill.
