Ilha Verde District Welfare and Mutual Help Association Vice President Chan Fong yesterday urged the government to come up with a bill to ensure competitive prices for food such as fruit, meat and vegetables.
Chan also said there should be regulations in place to prevent businesspeople from reaping “exorbitant profits”, adding that businesspeople should follow their conscience when running their businesses.
Chan made the remarks on the sidelines of a one-day seminar about food prices at the association in Fai Chi Kei.
