The legislature’s 1st Standing Committee “has basically finished” its review of a government-drafted bill on the freezing of assets allegedly related to terrorism, lawmaker-cum-unionist Kwan Tsui Hang, who chairs the committee, said yesterday.
Kwan, a vice chairwoman of the Macau Federation of Trade Unions, briefed the media on yesterday’s closed-door committee meeting about the bill afterwards.
Kwan said she hoped the bill can become law by the end of the current legislative session, which will end in August, and enter into force by the end of the year.
