The Health Bureau (SSM) said in a statement yesterday that three members of a local family – two men and a woman aged 17 to 53 living in a building in Areia Preta – would remain in the public Conde de Sao Januario Hospital Centre overnight suffering from carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning.
The SSM statement said that the three were in a stable condition after medical treatment but needed to stay in hospital under observation.
According to the statement, the accident took place early yesterday morning when the victims were taken to the hospital after feeling dizzy and vomiting.
