Macau's Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre confirmed today the city's 14th novel coronavirus (COVID-19) case, a 42-year-old woman from Indonesia.
The patient is a relative of a local non-resident worker.
According to a statement by the centre, the woman departed from Jakarta yesterday on Hong Kong-bound Cathay Pacific flight CX718 in seat No. 47F. She arrived in Macau via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge. At the Macau checkpoint of the bridge Health Bureau (SSM) officials detected that she was having a fever, after which she was taken to the special emergency centre of the public Conde de S. Januario Hospital Centre for a medical examination.
According to the statement, the patient was classified as a "moderate risk case." After initial treatment, she was driven by her husband to their home where she remained. After her COVID-19 infection had been confirmed, she was taken by a designated vehicle to the public hospital for treatment at the isolation war. The statement described her clinical condition as "normal".
According to the statement, the Health Bureau has ordered the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) to disinfect the patient's home. The Health Bureau is investigating the patient's travel and contact history. Macau has confirmed four imported COVID-19 cases since Sunday. The previous 10 patients - seven tourists from Wuhan and three locals - have been discharged from the public hospital. The seven patients from Wuhan have returned to the mainland.
