Macau’s 38th novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) case was confirmed by the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre late last night, a 44-year-old local man who travelled from the UK via Hong Kong to Macau where he arrived on March 18, when he was taken immediately to the Golden Crown China Hotel opposite the airport for 14 days of medical observation, based on the Health Bureau’s (SSM) mandatory quarantine measures.
The patient tested negative for COVID-19 on March 22. However, a follow-up test yesterday confirmed his novel coronavirus infection.
The statement described his condition as “normal.” He is undergoing treatment in the isolation ward of the public Conde de S. Januario Hospital Centre.
