A local man was arrested for taking ketamine, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Wong Wai Chon said during a regular press conference on Tuesday.
The 34-year-old local suspect, surnamed Hoi, told police that he is unemployed.
According to Wong, Hoi was at his home in Rua de Má Káu Séak when he called the Public Security Police at around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday to report that he felt unwell and needed to be taken to hospital. After the police arrived at his home the police suspected that Hoi was drunk and drugged.
PSP officers searched Hoi’s bedroom and seized 1.5 grammes of ketamine with an estimated street value of 750 patacas. Hoi tested positive for ketamine after he was taken to the hospital and given a drug test, according to Wong.
Under questioning, Hoi told the police that he is a drug user, adding that the ketamine was a “gift from a man.” Hoi has been transferred to the Public Prosecution Office (MP), facing a charge of illegal use of narcotics and psychotropic substances, according to Wong.
This undated handout photo provided by the Public Security Police (PSP) on Tuesday shows evidence seized from the suspect’s bedroom such as a packet of ketamine and a kind of straw.
