Macau has not registered a new COVID-19 case in 21 days, the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announced at its daily press conference about the novel coronavirus disease situation today.

According to Alvis Lo Iek Long, a senior doctor of the public Conde de S. Januario Hospital Centre, one more COVID-19 patient was discharged today, a 44-year-old local man who studies in Ireland. The patient was diagnosed with the highly infectious disease upon arrival in Macau on March 22, after a flight from Ireland via Frankfurt to Hong Kong and a bus trip from Hong Kong's airport to Macau via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge (HZMB).

Lo pointed out that there has been no community outbreak of the disease in Macau. Among the 45 COVID-19 patients diagnosed in Macau, 34 have meanwhile been discharged from hospital. The remaining 11 patients all have mild symptoms and are in a good condition, Lo said. He pointed out that only one of the 45 cases was temporarily classified at serious. The female patient's condition has improved, Lo said.

Lo also pointed out that 43 of the 45 cases have been classified as imported, while two have been classified as cases related to imported cases.

No-one has died of the disease in Macau, which confirmed its first COVID-19 case on January 22.
