World's COVID-19 cases top 7 million: report

The world's number of confirmed novel coronavirus cases went beyond seven million tonight (Macau time), the real-time statistics reference worldometers.info website reported. 

At 9:50 p.m. the number of confirmed cases stood at 7,016,024, with 402.787 deaths. 

Some 28 percent of the worldwide cases were recorded in the United States, at 1.99 million with 112,113 deaths, or 27 percent of the global total of COVID-19 fatalities. 

Macau has not confirmed a new COVID-19 case in 60 days. All its 45 patients have been discharged. Virtually all Macau residents have been wearing facemasks since late January.
