US gaming operator Wynn hosted yesterday a sharing session for some of its staff members about last month’s “two sessions” – the annual sessions of the National People’s Congress (NPC) and the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
According to a Wynn statement, the sharing session was held at Wynn Palace in Nape.
Macau NPC deputy Ho Sut Heng, president of the Macau Federation of Trade Unions (Gung Luen), and Tina Ho Teng Iat, a member of the CPPCC National Committee and president of the Women’s General Association of Macau (Fu Luen), gave the audience an overview of the spirit and purpose of the “two sessions” in Beijing.
Local NPC deputy Kevin Ho King Lun, president of the Industry and Commerce Association of Macau, and Ho Ion Sang, a CPPCC National Committee member and vice-president of the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macau (Kai Fong), also participated in the sharing session by “leading in-depth discussions on policies related to the nation’s social development, economy and people’s livelihoods, as well as assistance provided to small- and medium-sized enterprises”, the statement said.
The sharing session was also attended by Zhang Jianhua, deputy director-general of the Economic Affairs Department of the Central People’s Government Liaison Office in the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR) and Linda Chen Chih-ling, vice-chairwoman and executive director of Wynn Macau, who led her company’s management team members in joining the event, the statement pointed out.
“Wynn hopes that the session enabled the team to build a deeper understanding of the country’s future development trajectory, post-pandemic plans and the next stage of the economic recovery,” the statement said. “These include the development opportunities brought about by the Greater Bay Area [GBA], the integration of the country’s development plan…,” the statement said, which also highlighted the aim of achieving the local economy’s “moderate diversification”.
According to the statement, 120 staff members attended the sharing session, including senior management, administrative executives and frontline employees. The statement said that thanks to the sharing session, the staff members “have developed a deeper understanding of the outcomes” of the “two sessions”.
The sharing session “also demonstrated Wynn’s commitment to spreading a sense of care to all corners of the community, uniting forces from different sectors to build a harmonious community and country.”
