An event entitled “Happy Zai H² Sculpture Exhibition – Stay Healthy and Be Happy!” by local artist Thomas Lo Si In and curator Mel Cheong Hoi I is being held at Macau Tower.

The exhibition is organised by the Macau City Visual Arts Society, according to information provided by Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO).

According to the information, HAPPY ZAI is an elf with strong and positive energy, who loves to smile and travels around to pass positive energy and happiness on to others.

Lo and Cheong are displaying their HAPPY ZAI sculptures representing visual dialogues and depicting  multi-faceted colours with the aim of bringing positive energy to all those visiting the exhibition. As the whole world has been under stress due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the artists aim to remind civil society that laughs are contagious and have multiple effects. They want to bring more laughs and positive vibes to the world to stay healthy and be happy, according a poster displayed at the exhibition.

The organiser urges visitors to the exhibition to take photos with HAPPY ZAI and upload them on Facebook or Instagram with the hashtags #happyzai and #toysrusmacau. Visitors can then get a 15 percent off regular priced items at the Toys”R”Us on the 2nd floor of  Macau Tower as well as when buying a HAPPY ZAI sculpture.

The exhibition runs until July 31 on the lower ground floor of Macau Tower. It opens from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day. Admission is free.

As part of the government’s COVID-19 epidemic prevention measures, all visitors entering the venue must wear a facemask, have their temperature checked and present their digital Health Code declaration.
