Gaming receipts fall 94.5 pct in July

Macau's gross gaming revenue (GGR) fell 94.5 percent year-on-year to 1.344 billion patacas (US$168 million) in July, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) said today. 

However, GGR was up 87.7 percent month-on-month. 

In the first seven months of the year, GGR declined 79.8 percent year-on-year to 35.0 billion patacas. 

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, foreign nationals continue to be barred from entering Macau. While mainland Chinese, Taiwan and Hongkongers are allowed to enter Macau they are subject to a range of novel coronavirus screening measures including14-day quarantine for some of them. 

Casino admission is subject to a health code that includes nucleic acid test (NAT) certification.
