A tavern from the famous Paulaner Brewery from Munich will open in Taipa Village, possibly in time for the traditional Bavarian Oktoberfest.
A notice saying that “Macau’s First Official Paulaner Beerhouse” will be opening soon in Taipa Village was seen on Taipa Village Destination Limited’s website yesterday.
Paulaner is a German brewery, established in 1634 in Munich by Minim friars of the Neudeckob der Au cloister. It is one of the six breweries that provide beer for Oktoberfest, a Bavarian beer festival dating from 1810.
According to the website’s description, PaulanerBräuhaus, Wirtshaus and Bierhaus are the internationally renowned hospitality brands of Paulaner Munich, which bring beer and food from Munich to the world.
“The debut of Paulaner Wirtshaus Macau at Taipa Village will be the perfect place to gather with friends and enjoy the full excellence of Bavarian beer and food,” the website says, adding: “This authentic German restaurant will transport guests on a journey to Munich and the art of the world’s finest brewing.”
Taipa Village Destination Limited’s media representative told The Macau Post Daily yesterday that “Paulaner Wirtshaus Macau” could possibly open sometime in September or October, just around the time of the world’s largest beer festival Oktoberfest in Munich, which this year has been cancelled due to COVID-19.
Taipa Village Destination Limited is a destination development and marketing company that promotes Taipa old village as a brand and Macau’s “premier lifestyle district”, with heritage attractions, dining, retail offerings and a diverse arts and entertainment scene.
