Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) recently held celebratory activities to mark National Day, Mid-Autumn Festival, and the United Nation’s International Day of Older Persons that included a special afternoon tea gathering and lantern riddle guessing games for the elderly members of the Macau Federation of Trade Unions (FAOM).

For the celebration, GEG recently invited 40 elderly members from the Integrated Service Centre of Northern District of FAOM for a festive celebration at Galaxy Hotel, and gave them gift packages with healthy and high-quality food products from Congjiang county in Guizhou province.

The packages were purchased by GEG to help alleviate poverty in that region.

Apart from GEG volunteers, interns from GEG’s U-LEAD internship programme also joined the celebration with the senior citizens. Many of the participants took photos with the red Chinese decorations and traditional lanterns that were hung inside the venue, which enhanced the festive atmosphere, promoted traditional Chinese culture, and extended the spirit of happiness and reunion.

Outside the venue, GEG volunteers and interns joined the seniors in demonstrating creativity and teamwork through a series of interactive games, including the guessing of lantern riddles and other games with prizes.

GEG staff members also paid a visit to “Yee On” Nursing Home of Caritas Macau and the Day Centre “Prazer para Idosos” of the Women’s General Association of Macau where the gift packages from Congjiang county were presented to their senior members.

In addition, GEG also visited users of Peng On Tung Tele-Assistance Services while GEG Volunteers regularly check in at the call centre to conduct “caring calls” to its service users. – gegpr
