The three-day “1st Macau Quality of Life Expo” co-organised by the Macau Jiangmen Chamber of Commerce and the Jiangmen Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment, which started on Friday, attracted 230 companies from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA), according to a statement provided by the organiser.

The statement said that the expo, which was held at the Guangdong Zhuxi International Convention and Exhibition Centre (GZICEC) in Jiangmen, ended yesterday. The statement noted that 190 companies were from Macau and 40 companies were from cities outside of the GBA.

According to the statement, the fair included zones such as business services, education services, food products, creative arts and crafts, and interior design.

Li Weimin, a senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official of Jiangmen, said during the opening ceremony on Friday that the expo demonstrated the cooperation links between Jiangmen and Macau, adding that it aimed at helping create a platform for businesses from the two places. He added that the expo introduced Macau’s small-to-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to other cities in the Greater Bay Area.

The statement note that the expo held multiple business-matching sessions to help Macau SMEs. The statement said the aim of the fair was to let Jiangmen residents know more about Macau and the city’s culture.

Jiangmen, which has a population of 4.5 million, lies some 65 kilometres north-west of Macau. A major part of Macau’s population has its ancestral roots in Jiangmen.
