The Churchill’s Table restaurant at The Londoner Macao has launched two kinds of limited-edition mooncake gift boxes to celebrate the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, according to a statement by The Londoner this week, adding that the gift boxes’ packaging has been inspired by the London Eye Ferris Wheel and the British capital’s classic red phone boxes.

The statement points out that Churchill’s Table Assorted Mooncakes Box adopts a warm red and gold colour to recreate the London Eye landmark, with a wheel and six passenger capsules. The statement says that each capsule carries one mini mooncake.

According to the statement, the gift box contains six mini mooncakes in three flavours: classic golden lotus seed paste with egg yolk, the much-coveted lava egg custard and the red bean paste with mandarin peel mooncake, which costs 488 patacas.

The statement says that the Churchill’s Table Classic Mooncakes Box is a “special edition” with packaging recreating London’s iconic red telephone boxes, adding that the three-dimensional pattern of an English teapot on the mooncakes presents a mix of cultures.

The statement points out that the gift box contains four mooncakes cooked with “golden lotus seed paste” and salted egg yolk, which will evoke memories of family reunions. The gift box is priced at 588 patacas, the statement says.

Guests can now pre-order the gift boxes and collect them at Churchill’s Table Retail Shop from August 15 to September 10, the statement says, adding that early bird and bulk-purchase have been offered until August 28.

This year’s Mid-Autumn Festival falls on Saturday, September 10.
