The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) said in a statement yesterday that its Bachelor of Communication and Media (BCM) programme, one of its flagship offerings, recently received the title of “Top Media & Mass Communication Colleges in Asia – 2024” from the Asia Education Review, with the programme being recognised as one of the best in Asia.
The private Catholic university noted in the statement that Asia Education Review is “renowned for conducting comprehensive research and analysis of educational institutions across Asia.”
The statement noted that the internationally accredited course has consistently shown commitment to “delivering a comprehensive and contemporary curriculum that equips students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the rapidly evolving media landscape”.
Moreover, practical modules that cover various aspects of media, art, technology, and marketing are featured. The statement said that the university provides different practical exposure, opportunities, and industry connections, altogether contributing to graduates’ “notably high” employability rate.
Programme Coordinator and Head of the Department of Media, Art and Technology of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities Prof. José Manuel Simões was quoted by the statement as saying that the programme also “benefits from a faculty composition that includes full-time academic staff experts as well as renowned international professionals who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience from their respective fields”.
