The government has yet to make a decision on whether it will preserve or demolish the several long-abandoned shipyards in Coloane’s Lei Chi Vun Village, Lands, Public Works and Transport Bureau (DSSOPT) Director Li Canfeng said yesterday.
Li was asked by reporters about the shipyards after attending a lecture by Liu Jiayi, the central government’s auditor-general, at the Macau East Asian Games Dome in Cotai.
The DSSOPT chief said his bureau would “definitely” assess the structural safety of the buildings, adding that several government bodies would discuss the future of the shipyards.
