The Sports Bureau said in a statement yesterday that in order to ensure that children are properly being taken care of, it is implementing a new rule in which one adult can only take two children under the age of 12 to public swimming pools run by the bureau.

According to the statement, children below the age of 12 can only purchase tickets to enter the pool with their parents.

Estoril Swimming Pool reopens

Moreover, the statement also said that the popular Estoril Swimming Pool (known as San Fa Yuen) will reopen tomorrow until November 30. According to the statement, the opening times will be divided into three sessions: the first session is from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., the second session is from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and the third session is from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The statement also pointed out that the first session on Wednesdays will be closed for pool cleaning, adding that unless Wednesday is a public holiday, the pool cleaning session will then be moved to the next day.

The statement also said that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the bureau will continue to reinforce the prevention procedures, which include that residents must wear a facemask when entering the facility, they must have their temperature checked and must show a valid Macau Health Code prior to entering the pool. The statement also said that the bureau will limit the number of people at sports facilities to avoid over-crowded situations, and it will also disinfect the facilities more frequently. The statement also pointed out that the spectators area will only be partially open.

The bureau also said it hoped that more residents could experience different kinds of sport and to enjoy a better lifestyle.
