Wynn Macau hosted two workshops –“Macanese Cuisine and Portuguese Wine Workshop” and a “Wynn Guest Chef Series – Beijing cuisine workshop”, the latter in conjunction with the Macau Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM) – at Wynn Macau and on the IFTM Mong Ha campus yesterday respectively.

According to a Wynn Macau statement, the Wynn F&B Academy hosted the “Macanese Cuisine and Portuguese Wine Workshop” to create diversified training programmes and provide exceptional training opportunities for young practitioners in Macau. The statement said that the event included “experiencing Macanese cuisine” and a “Wines of Portugal Taster” sharing session.

According to the statement, Wynn F&B Academy Executive Director David Wong Yuk Shan said his goal for the Wynn F&B Academy was to make it the benchmark for hospitality training on an international level, adding that Wynn has developed in-house training programmes and works with international educational bodies to ensure that its F&B team members attain Wynn’s highest standards of training.

Meanwhile, on the same day Wynn Macau collaborated with IFTM and hosted another workshop – “Wynn Guest Chef Series – Beijing cuisine workshop”.

According to an IFTM statement yesterday, Da Dong Beijing sent representatives to Macau to talk about the culinary skills needed to make its signature dish “Beijing Peking Duck”. The statement said that the founder of Da Dong Beijing also shared his story of becoming a “good chef” and talked about his latest book food.

The statement said IFTM hoped that by inviting guest chefs from all over the country it could create a platform for students and food industry workers to exchange professional knowledge. The statement also said that it hoped that through this series, attendees would learn and understand more about Chinese cuisine from different provinces.

According to the statement, the series will run until June 24, comprising 11 workshops conducted by famous chefs from the mainland to teach students more about their local cuisines.
