Secretary for Transport and Public Works Raimundo do Rosario said yesterday that the government does not know when it will relaunch its recently-halted public consultation on the drafting of a Road Traffic Law amendment bill.
Rosario made the remarks while speaking to reporters after attending a closed-door meeting of the legislature’s 3rd Standing Committee, which is reviewing, article-by-article, a government-initiated bill on the city’s taxi sector.
The Transport Bureau (DSAT) announced during a press conference on Tuesday last week that the government would launch a two-month public consultation on June 28 on the drafting of a bill amending the current Road Traffic Law, with the aim of combating traffic offences more effectively and thereby improving the city’s road safety.
