29 bidders, highest offer of 153 million patacas
The Lands, Public Works and Transport Bureau (DSSOPT) said in a statement yesterday that it expects the government’s project of setting up an exhibition hall and a multi-function hall at the Services Platform Complex for Commercial and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (PSCs) in Nam Van to get off the ground in the next quarter.
In addition, the project will also include the renovation of various other facilities in the complex.
The complex, which is located next to the Legislative Assembly (AL) building, has been used by the local government for a number of events and receptions since it came into operation in late 2019.
The statement pointed out that the complex, which was completed in November 2019, is the official venue for meetings, exhibitions and events related to the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries.
The bureau unsealed bids submitted by 29 construction companies for the project yesterday. All bids were accepted.
According to the statement, the quotations proposed by the 29 bidders range from 105 million patacas to 153 million patacas.
According to the statement, the bureau has set a maximum period of 150 working days for the winning bidder to complete the project.

The renovation project will cover facilities on four floors, from the second underground floor to the first floor above the ground, involving a gross area of about 11,000 square metres, the statement said.
According to the statement, the exhibition hall and the multi-function hall will be set up on the first underground floor.
According to the statement, the other floors will be renovated to be used for warehousing and office facilities.
The statement said that in the exhibition hall, which will cover about 3,100 square metres, various facilities will be set up, such as 1) a digital exhibition area showing the development history of the economic and trade cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries; 2) an exhibition area displaying the culture, history and people’s lives in the Portuguese-speaking countries, 3) an exhibition area showing the achievements of the services platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, and 4) a services and information centre for companies involved in the trade between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.
The multi-function hall, which will cover 3,500 square metres, will comprise a number of activity rooms with movable partition walls, the statement said.
