Due to the current COVID-19 outbreak in Guangdong province, Yuet Tung Shipping Co. Ltd has decided to suspend the ferry service between Macau and Dongguan again until further notice, the Marine and Water Bureau (DSAMA) said in a statement yesterday.

The route debuted in October 2019. According to a previous report, a one-way trip takes 100 minutes. However, due to the novel coronavirus pandemic the ferry service was suspended in February 2020, shortly after its launch.

According to the statement, the route was resumed on April 28.

Dongguan lies some 95 kilometres north-east of Macau.

The statement also said that the ferry routes from Macau to Shenzhen and Jiuzhou Port in Zhuhai will also make timetable adjustments due to the current novel coronavirus pandemic situation. The bureau urges residents to double check with the ferry company before their planned trip.
