SJM Resorts, S.A. (SJM) said in a statement yesterday that after extending its “2021 SJM Vaccination Encouragement Programme” from two to four days, the programme attracted more than 3,600 SJM staff members and their families to get their COVID-19 vaccination.
The statement said that in order to encourage the employees and their families to get vaccinated, in support of the government’s goal of achieving herd immunity, SJM had launched a programme that was supposed to run for only two days. The statement added that, however, due to the overwhelming response from the employees, it had extended it to four consecutive days from Monday to yesterday.
According to the statement, SJM also partnered with the Health Bureau (SSM) in organising an informative “Novel Coronavirus Vaccination Seminar” earlier this month to provide employees with an in-depth understanding of vaccinations.
“It is encouraging to note that our vaccination encouragement programme and educational seminar in partnership with the Health Bureau have received an overwhelming response from our team members. Vaccination is a top priority in the fight against the pandemic. SJM fully supports the Macau government in boosting the vaccination rates in order to build an immune barrier in the community for the health and safety of residents and visitors,” SJM Chairwoman and Executive Director Daisy Ho Chiu Fung said in the statement.
SJM Managing Director Angela Leong On Kei also said in the statement: “I am very pleased to see so many staff members bringing their family members to join our vaccination sessions. I am very grateful to the frontline medical staff for their hard work and our team members for their enthusiastic support. Together, we join forces in protecting the health and safety of the community.”
The statement underlined that SJM’s hotels and casinos strictly adhere to the Macau government’s preventive and control measures against the pandemic, providing the highest level of protection for its guests and employees, while also ensuring that Macau remains a healthy and safe destination for all.
