The government’s Paediatric Joint Assessment Centre, established on June 1, has been requested to look into “100 to 150 cases”, Lee Pui I, a doctor of children’s cognitive development at the public Conde de Sao Januario Hospital Centre, said yesterday.
The doctor made the remarks during a phone-in programme by government-owned broadcaster TDM’s Chinese-language radio station Ou Mun Tin Toi yesterday.
The centre, which is located in the public hospital, is open from Mondays to Fridays but closed on public holidays. The centre is only for referrals from public health centres, the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEJ) and the Social Welfare Bureau (IAS), according to a Health Bureau (SSM) statement released earlier this month.
