The Health Bureau (SSM) said in a statement yesterday that it is recalling Dyna Laxative Pill 5mg because its manufacturer found that the pills have excessive amounts of impurities, because of which the company is willing to recall all the affected products.
According to the statement, the pills, which contain 5mg of bisacodyl, were manufactured by Malaysian pharmaceutical company, “Dynapharm (M) Sdn Bhd”.
Bisacodyl is a stimulant laxative typically prescribed for relief of constipation and for the management of neurogenic bowel dysfunction.
The statement said official records show that the affected pills have been supplied to local health centres. The statement said that in order to protect public health, the Health Bureau requested all the health centres that have the problematic batch of pills to return the products.
The statement said that if residents were prescribed the pills, they should return them to the closest health centre’s pharmacy. For any enquiries, please contact 8598 3441.
