A Social Welfare Bureau (IAS) statement yesterday noted that 4,700 children, accounting for 70 percent of the original attendees, have attended the city’s 41 government-subsidised nurseries since they reopened on Wednesday after the city’s recent Delta variant family cluster scare.
According to the statement, the bureau and the nurseries are keeping in touch to ensure that the Health Bureau’s (SSM) COVID-19 prevention and control measures are followed.
The statement underlined that all the subsidised nurseries have been disinfected, have implemented crowd management rules and follow all the SSM guidelines. The statement also said that the nurseries have sufficient experience to look after the children. Their staff will check their Macau Health Code, take their temperature and ensure that social distancing is maintained during the children’s time in their care. The statement noted that all nursery workers must have a negative nucleic acid test (NAT) to ensure that the children’s health is being protected.
