An exhibition entitled “Equinox” (二分) by local artist Melody Chan (陳逸韻) is displaying her artwork at the Youth Art Exhibition and Performance Hall in Praça do Tap Seac.
The event is sponsored by the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ).
Chan is studying printmaking in the Visual Arts Department of the Macau Polytechnic Institute (IPM). The exhibition features a combination of Eastern and Western philosophical explorations of nature, analysing the relationship between humans and all things in nature from a Western perspective.
Chan explores the respect for “qi” (氣) in Eastern philosophy through electromagnetic force, one of the four fundamental forces of physics, pursuing the highest level of Eastern art, i.e., the aesthetic criterion of “vivid charm”, according to the exhibition hall’s website.
The exhibition runs until Sunday at the Youth Art Exhibition and Performance Hall in Praça do Tap Seac. It opens from noon to 8 p.m. daily (except Mondays). Admission is free.
As part of the government’s COVID-19 epidemic prevention measures, all visitors entering the venue must wear a facemask, have their temperature checked and present a digital health code.
