Local activities, institutions begin gradual resumption

Following the improvements in the city’s COVID-19 pandemic situation, a string of activities and some institutions are gradually beginning to resume normal operations.

MGTO to resume ‘Stay, Dine and See Macao’ tours

The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) announced in a statement yesterday that it will resume its “Stay, Dine and See Macao” tours starting from tomorrow.

The statement said that the third phase of the project will run until December, with 12 itineraries to choose from. The statement underlined that there will be a variety of itineraries available in the local tours. These include a combined tour exploring the history of Macau and Macau Grand Prix, which is available from Wednesdays to Sundays and on public holidays, and two itineraries available from Mondays to Friday nights that include a maritime tour with buffet dinner on the ferry followed by an open-top bus ride at night.

Community tourism activities and night-time sightseeing experiences for participants, which include events like the Macau Light Festival and Light up Macau Drone Gala in December, are also planned to be part of the itineraries, the statement underlined.

The statement pointed out that registration for the tours can be done through travel agencies involved in the project or at the special information counters at one of the six participating hotels and integrated resorts. The statement added that tours will be available during weekends, public holidays and from Monday to Friday nights, in addition to certain daily-run itineraries. The statement also noted that local travel agencies are promoting the project through different online platforms such as WeChat and Facebook.

The six information counters are at the following locations: Grande Praça of MGM Macau, Business Centre of Wynn Palace, the lobbies at Studio City and Grand Lisboa, the ground floor (near the Tastes of Asia footcourt) of Galaxy Macau in Cotai and at West Lobby of the Venetian Macao. The opening hours are from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

CTT reopens Communication Museum

The Macau Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT) announced in a statement yesterday that it has reopened the Communications Museum, with free admission for visitors, tourists, and residents.

Meanwhile, the statement added that CTT has extended the registration deadline of the museum’s Electronic Device Construction Competition to 10 p.m. on November 3, while the competition stage is now to take place from November 27 to January 23, while the presentation stage is now scheduled for January 29.

Ilha Verde shelter closed

The Social Welfare Bureau (IAS) said in a statement this week that as Zhuhai lifted its 14-day mandatory quarantine regulation, the bureau closed its temporary shelter in Ilha Verde yesterday.

The statement noted that between September 25 and October 20, the shelter accommodated 6,475 people. According to the statement, the daily averages stood at 249 and 486 a day at its peak.
