Hairy Crab Promotion –Photo and Caption: Sands Resorts Macao and Sands Macao Sands Resorts Macao and Sands Macao said in a joint statement recently that in order to celebrate the once-a-year harvest, Sands Resorts Macao and Sands Macao have launched seasonal menus featuring hairy crab delicacies at their signature restaurants, La Chine, Lotus Palace, and Golden Court. The city’s hairy crab aficionados can enjoy a wide range of delectable dishes from now until November 30.

According to the statement, when the leaves turn gold, hairy crab, which is ripe, plump, and high in nutrition, flourish along the Yangtze River. A much-coveted delicacy in China since ancient times, hairy crab is known for its sweet, silken flesh and creamy, buttery roe, the statement added.

The statement said that La Chine, which is located on the 6th floor of the Eiffel Tower at The Parisian Macao, has a superb selection of hairy crab dishes this autumn. The statement said that this includes traditional steamed whole crab served with aged vinegar and ginger tea, a number of dishes made from the flavourful crab roe, as well as braised fish maw with hairy crab roe and hairy crab meat terrine with tobiko roe and balsamic vinegar.

Meanwhile, the statement also said that featuring a palatial Chinese dining experience, Lotus Palace offers a variety of hairy crab dishes, including stir-fried scallop, milk and egg white topped with hairy crab meat and roe; steamed shrimp paste stuffed with fish maw and hairy crab meat and roe; and deep-fried shrimp pancakes with hairy crab meat and roe. The statement pointed out that guests can also enjoy two whole-crab dishes: traditional steamed hairy crab served with ginger and vinegar, and steamed hairy crab and fresh-chopped pork patty with 20-year-old Huadiao wine.

Furthermore, the statement said that one of the best Cantonese restaurants in town, Golden Court is preparing steamed whole hairy crab with perilla leaf accompanied by ginger tea to satisfy guests’ cravings this autumn. The statement said that the chefs have also added a creative twist by combining crab with other exquisite ingredients, serving dishes such as bird’s nest and hairy crab roe with supreme broth and Japanese Inaniwa udon tossed with crab roe, which are sure to delight the palates of discerning gourmands.
