The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) announced in a statement yesterday that a total of 36 “creative handicraft workshops”, including nine family sessions, will be held during the “Tap Siac* Craft Market”, which is slated to take place from November 19-21 and 26-28 in Praça do Tap Seac Square.

The statement noted that registration for the workshops can be made by visiting the website at www.craftmarket.gov.mo from today and the registration deadline is next Monday at 5 p.m. The fee for each handicraft workshop is 50 patacas, the statement added.

The statement pointed out that each person may register for up to two workshops and only once per workshop, adding that the same conditions apply for each child registering for family workshops.

The statement underlined that applicants will be selected by drawing lots and will be notified by SMS next Thursday. Moreover, registration fees should be paid at designated locations within the specified period of time, while selection results will also be announced on the website.

The statement noted that registered applicants arriving 10 minutes after the workshop has started will lose their slot and be replaced by on-site applicants on the waiting list. The statement said that on-site registration may be done if there are vacancies left for the workshops and registration fees can be paid during the Tap Siac Craft Market on November 19 and 26 from 5 pm onwards. Meanwhile, the organiser will distribute the tickets to on-site applicants at the venue 30 minutes before each workshop starts and latecomers will be replaced by the on-site applicants on the waiting list, the statement added.

The statement emphasised that participants must wear a facemask, undergo temperature checks and present a valid “Macau Health Code”, adding that the bureau will follow the COVID-19 pandemic prevention guidelines of the Health Bureau (SSM).

Enquiries can be made by contacting Ms. Zhou, an IC official, on 8399 6289 during office hours, the statement noted.

* “Tap Siac” is an alternative spelling. The name of the square is customarily also spelt “Tap Seac”.
