The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) announced in a statement yesterday that the Tap Siac* Craft Market will be held starting this Friday in Praça do Tap Seac over the weekends of November 19-21 and 26-28.
The statement noted that an opening ceremony will be held on Friday at 5:30 p.m. which will feature a performance by singer and song writer Plusone Wang (王加一).
The statement added that the market will feature 110 booths, including “cultural and creative practitioners” from the mainland and Macau, who will sell various cultural and creative products such as clothing and accessories, handicrafts and natural handmade products as well as a booth selling IC publications. The market will also feature food stalls and 37 music performances by mainland and local singers.
The statement underlined that there will be 36 creative handicraft workshops conducted at the event by “experienced creative instructors”. The statement reminded applicants to attend workshops on time and that if there are vacancies left, those interested can register on-site and pay the registration fees starting from 5 p.m. on Friday, adding that each workshop costs 50 patacas.
The statement stressed that the bureau will follow the COVID-19 pandemic prevention measures of the Health Bureau (SSM), requiring participants to wear a facemask, maintain one-metre social distancing, undergo temperature checks and present a valid “Macau Health Code”. Moreover, the statement emphasised that participants with a fever or respiratory symptoms are not allowed to enter the venue, while restrictions are put in place for number of people entering the venue and admissions will be suspended in case of overcrowding.
The statement said that the market will be open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends, adding that information can be found by visiting www.craftmarket.gov.mo, the Facebook page at www.facebook.com/MacaoCraftMarket or www.icm.gov.mo.
