The 2021 CTA Tour SJM Professional Finals (Macau) and National Tennis Championships, which started yesterday at the Macau Tennis Academy, will end on Sunday, SJM Resorts has announced in a recent statement.
According to the statement, China’s top tennis players are gathering in Macau to compete in the finals, and a series of educational and promotional activities for the community will be held during the tournament “to spark a tennis boom” in Macau. The statement added that the activities include a Youth Talk for college students, a Community Tennis Clinic with Macau Special Olympics (MSO) athletes, as well as ‘tennis-themed’ promotions at Grand Lisboa Palace and Grand Lisboa Hotel.
The statement noted that a total of 50 young candidates from Macau who passed the training assessment were invited by the Chinese Tennis Association (CTA) and the Macau Tennis Association to be the official ball boys and ball girls in the finals’ week. The statement pointed out that SJM and CTA jointly invited the nation’s globally renowned tennis player Li Na and three other tennis stars to conduct a Youth Talk for students of the University of Macau (UM) including from the Stanley Ho East Asia College and Henry Fok Pearl Jubilee College. “The four athletes hope to inspire future generations and encourage them by sharing their experiences as professional athletes,” the statement said.
The statement said that on Sunday, the last day of the tournament, a cocktail celebration will be held in the gardens of Jardim Secreto at Grand Lisboa Palace, pointing out that trophies will also be presented to the winning players of the 2021 CTA Tour SJM Professional Finals (Macau) and National Tennis Championships.
