The Sports Bureau (ID) announced in a statement earlier this week that the “WTT Champions Macao 2021 China Stars” will be held on January 19-23 at the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion.
The statement noted that the competition is organised by the bureau in conjunction with the Macau Table Tennis General Association.
According to the statement, the upcoming competition will bring together “world-leading elite players” to showcase their “techniques and skills” in three categories, namely men’s singles, women’s singles and mixed doubles.
The statement said that tickets will be on sale from January 5, while further details will be announced in due course. Details can be found by visiting worldtabletennis.com, www.sport.gov.mo, or by following the “Macao Major Sporting Events” Facebook page and the “澳門國際體育盛事” (Macao Major Sporting Events) WeChat account, the statement underlined.
The statement pointed out that the WTT (World Table Tennis) “was founded with the authorisation of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF)”, and that the first event, WTT Macao 2020, captured international attention and that of residents, tourists and table tennis fans alike. It also obtained the support and recognition of the ITTF, allowing for more international table tennis events to be held in the city, the statement said.
