Local Portuguese lender BNU has granted 450,000 patacas to the government-owned Institute for Tourism Studies (IFT) as a student scholarship fund.

According to a BNU statement, the bank’s CEO Pedro Cardoso presented the grant in the form of a cheque to IFT President Fanny Vong Chuk Kwan last week.

The grant is based on the BNU IFT Mastercard, an affinity card for IFT staff, students and alumni. For each retail transaction settled with the credit card, a certain percentage is transferred to the fund, according to the statement.
