The Macau Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM) announced in a statement yesterday that it is planning to launch its new Postgraduate Diploma Programme (PgD) and Master of Science programme in “Smart Technologies in Hospitality and Tourism” in the academic year 2022/2023.
The tertiary education institution noted that it currently provides six PgD’s for 2022/2023, which are International Hospitality and Tourism Management, Tourism Management, Hospitality Management, International Gastronomy Management, International Food and Beverage Management, and Smart Technologies in Hospitality and Tourism.
Meanwhile, six Master’s Degree Programmes (MSc) are also offered, which are Hospitality and Tourism Management, International Tourism Management, International Hospitality Management, International Gastronomy Management, International Food and Beverage Management, and Smart Technologies in Hospitality and Tourism, the statement added.
A Doctoral Degree (PhD) in Hospitality and Tourism Management is also available at the institution.
The statement pointed out that a majority of the programmes are “designed by modules”, adding that students can choose their preferred modules to obtain the corresponding certificates.
As an example, the statement underlined that students who choose the Tourism module and the Internationalisation module, along with the Management core module and thesis, can obtain an MSc in International Tourism Management. For students inclined to enrol in fewer modules, as well as currently not wanting to do the thesis, students can opt for the PgD track.
Students can also choose to take up to nine credits in courses from other postgraduate programmes recognised by the institution.
