Macau Urban Renewal Limited (MUR) announced yesterday that it has created a set of “Auspicious Iao Hon” fai chun, which members of the public can collect for free during the office’s collection period or at its pop-up counter after following their social media accounts.
According to Wikipedia, “fai chun” (揮春) is a traditional decoration commonly used during Chinese New Year (CNY) displayed in doorways. The phrases written on the “spring couplets” wish everyone good luck and prosperity.
The statement noted that the set of fai chun can be collected by following the office on Instagram at “ur.sincerely” or in WeChat at “macau_urbanrenewal”. The set features eight CNY banners “with messages of joy” and a design concept based on Iao Hon Estate’s housing block names.
The seven blocks of Iao Hon Estate that are incorporated are Hong Tai House, Kat Cheong House, Son Lei House, Heng Long House, Mau Tan House, Man Sau House and Seng Yee House, the statement pointed out.
The set can be collected from Monday to Friday during office hours from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2.30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the 18th floor of Rodrigues Commercial Building in Avenida da Praia Grande, or at a pop-up counter on Friday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the sitting-out area adjacent to Rua Oito do Bairro Iao Hon.
The statement underlined that the public needs to show staff their mobile phones displaying that they have followed MUR’s social media accounts to receive one set per account followed, which is given out on a first come, first served basis.
The statement added that the event is subject to change without prior notice.
Moreover, MUR will provide project updates on its social media platforms. For enquiries, one can call 2888 2263.
